Most Project Manager roles end at delivering the contract. This one includes helping to win the contract.

Construction Simplified exists to challenge traditional construction through better communication, transparency, and collaboration. We specialize in Owner’s Representation, Construction Management, and Development Partner services, helping clients simplify complex projects while delivering exceptional quality, value, and long-term relationships.

We’re leading the industry with education and transparency here in West Michigan while executing our plans for geographic expansion. Which means we’re looking for people whose careers can grow alongside ours.

Why This Role Is Different

At Construction Simplified, Project Managers don’t just execute contracts — they help win them. Beyond leading core CM projects, you’ll master our detailed budgeting process, shape pre-contract strategy alongside firm leadership, and present directly to prospective clients. That’s deliberate: it builds the commercial skills that turn great PMs into future partners and office leaders.

Our vision is a firm controlled by its team, with limitless opportunity to build your own self-equity, choose your plateau, and create a legacy worth passing on.

The Work, Week to Week

Here’s what the work actually looks like.

You own your projects with 100% responsibility for their success. You build the master schedule at contract issuance and update it monthly, folding in your Site Manager’s 3-week look-ahead. You run the billing cycle, manage project accounting from setup through closeout, and drive the change process — logging issues, issuing RFIs, tracking trade partner quotes, and executing owner change orders every month.

You lead OAC and progress meetings, assess risk before it becomes cost, mentor your project team, and stand as the primary contact for the clients who matter most. Within 60 days of completion, you run the post-project review — schedule, budget, profitability, lessons learned — and share it with the team so the next one is better.

How Success Is Measured

We believe great performers deserve clear targets — so every Project Manager works from a defined scorecard, reviewed annually, that weighs how you work as much as what you deliver: 30% living our values, 40% core competencies, 30% role-specific results. A few examples of what good looks like:

• Projects that deliver — on-schedule, on-budget completion with monthly schedule updates and a clean, timely billing cycle

• Zero-incident sites — safety discussed at every project meeting and hazards addressed at first notice

• Happy clients — client satisfaction scores of 4.0+ and relationships strong enough to bring the next project back to CS

• Winning work — roughly a dozen comprehensive project budgets a year feeding the pipeline, with presentations that confirm our value

• Growing people — real mentorship, and a team that gets better because you’re on it

You’ll see the full scorecard during the interview process — no surprises, ever. Goals are set together using SMART criteria, so you always know where you stand and what’s next.
