Eugene Water & Electric Board is seeking a Project Manager II or Senior Project Manager to join our Information Services team and help lead delivery across EWEB’s highly integrated, SAP-centric technology landscape.

This role combines hands-on project management with portfolio planning. The Project Manager will lead selected technology initiatives while partnering across Information Services to strengthen how we plan, sequence, and deliver projects, enhancements, and operational work.

Technology delivery at EWEB is highly collaborative. Our projects bring together people with different expertise—including functional and data analysts, developers, technical and security teams, business partners, project and delivery leads, and external delivery partners. The Project Manager plays an important role in bringing those perspectives together around a shared plan and outcome, creating clarity and accountability while helping the team work through challenges and dependencies along the way.

This is an exciting time to join the team. EWEB is still early in the journey with our SAP-centric technology landscape, with opportunities ahead to continue improving our existing solutions and deliver future enterprise initiatives. The person joining us will have the opportunity to apply their project management expertise to meaningful work, help shape and improve our delivery practices, and contribute to how we plan and manage an evolving portfolio of technology investments.

We value both expertise and growth. This role offers significant autonomy to exercise professional judgment and bring forward ideas, along with a supportive team environment and opportunities to continue developing project management, portfolio, and technology-delivery expertise.

This position may be filled at the Project Manager II or Senior Project Manager level. Additional information about classification is provided below.

Key Responsibilities

Lead complex technology projects from initiation through closeout. Bring structure and direction to complex or ambiguous initiatives by identifying stakeholders, asking the right questions, defining scope and deliverables, and translating what is known into an actionable project plan. Actively manage schedules, milestones, dependencies, resources, risks, decisions, and vendor or consultant commitments. Maintain clear accountability, provide meaningful project status and visibility, and drive issues toward resolution to keep delivery moving.

Strengthen portfolio planning. Partner with functional and data analysts, project and delivery leads, technical teams, and leadership to build an integrated view of projects, enhancements, and operational work. Identify resource constraints, competing demands, and dependencies and recommend options for sequencing or adjusting work.

Improve project readiness. Support early scoping and planning before major delivery commitments are made. Help identify anticipated workstreams, resource needs, vendor support, dependencies, constraints, level of effort, and timing so proposed projects can be evaluated within the context of existing commitments and capacity.

Bring teams together around successful delivery. Build strong partnerships across functional, data, development, technical and security teams, business partners, project and delivery leads, and external delivery partners. Help establish shared goals, clear roles and handoffs, and the communication and accountability needed for people with different areas of expertise to deliver successfully together.

Strengthen project management practices. Serve as a project management resource and partner to functional and data analysts and others who lead technology delivery. Share practical tools, practices, and lessons learned and contribute to a strong project and delivery management community.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a project and delivery leader who enjoys solving difficult problems, brings structure to complexity, and takes ownership for helping teams turn plans into results.

Leadership and constructive courage. You can lead without positional authority, build strong relationships, respectfully challenge assumptions, deliver difficult messages when needed, and keep teams focused on successful outcomes.
Comfort with complexity and ambiguity. You learn quickly, ask good questions, identify what is known and what still needs to be resolved, and create a path forward even when one has not been clearly defined.
Strong delivery discipline and judgment. You build practical plans, maintain accountability for commitments, recognize emerging risks, drive issues toward resolution, and know when leadership involvement or a decision is needed.
An enterprise and improvement mindset. You can see beyond an individual project to understand resource constraints and dependencies across a broader portfolio, while identifying practical ways to improve how work is planned and delivered.
Strong partnership and team orientation. You work effectively with technical and functional experts, business partners, vendors, consultants, and other project professionals and enjoy sharing your expertise to strengthen the capability of those around you.
