Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Commercial Construction Friedrich Watkins of Tampa, LLC | Tampa, FL | On-site | Full-time

$105,000–$145,000+ annually, commensurate with experience · Medical, Dental & Retirement · PTO · Direct Access to Leadership

About the Opportunity

Friedrich Watkins of Tampa, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex commercial construction projects across the Greater Tampa Bay and Central Florida markets.

This is a high-ownership role for a seasoned construction professional who brings both technical depth and leadership capability. You will work closely with company leadership, senior superintendents, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers — driving projects from preconstruction through final closeout with full accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and client relationships.

About Friedrich Watkins of Tampa

Since 2005, Friedrich Watkins has built a strong regional reputation through hands-on leadership, honest communication, and a consistent record of delivering quality work on time and on budget. We are a full-service commercial GC serving a broad range of sectors — healthcare, life science and laboratories, hospitality, higher education, sports and entertainment, themed environments, restaurants, automotive, solar energy, and data centers.

Our portfolio includes some of the most recognized projects in the region: Busch Gardens Tampa Bay's Phoenix Rising and Serengeti Flyer, ZooTampa Florida Wilds, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium Manatee Rescue Facility, Florida Aquarium, 4 Rivers Smokehouse, Sun State International Trucks, and a broad range of healthcare, laboratory, and specialty commercial work throughout Greater Tampa Bay and Central Florida.

We are a five-time ABC Excellence in Construction Award recipient and a three-time Best Place to Work honoree recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal — distinctions that reflect both the quality of our work and the strength of our team.

Our Culture

Friedrich Watkins is mid-sized by design. That means leadership knows every project by name, project managers know the superintendents they are building with, and no one is an anonymous contributor inside a large corporate structure.

Collaboration here is not a stated value, it is how work gets done. Our teams operate with openness, mutual respect, and a collective commitment to solving problems and delivering results. When things get hard, we work through it together. The relationships built at Friedrich Watkins, between project managers, field leaders, estimators, and ownership, are built on genuine trust, and many become lasting friendships.

Being named a Best Place to Work three times is not something we pursued. It is something our people earned through the way they show up for each other every day.

If you are looking for a team that will support you, invest in your growth, and make a demanding profession genuinely rewarding, this is that place.

Primary Responsibilities

As Senior Project Manager, you will lead commercial construction projects from concept through closeout at the highest standards of quality, safety, schedule, budget, and client service.

Early risk identification and practical problem-solving to protect schedule, budget, and client trust
Preconstruction support: budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, and schedule planning
Proactive client communication and stakeholder management throughout all project phases
Mentoring project engineers, assistant PMs, and junior team members
