Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 545,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called GigaOne. We are the world’s first mesh energy infrastructure, uniting communities through resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid. Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.

Torus has raised over $267 million from investors like Magnetar, Mercado, ICONIQ and Origin Ventures. The investments are helping to accelerate deployment of modular power plants across utilities, data centers, and industrial sectors. This investor confidence reflects the strength of our team, technology as well as the scale of the problem we are solving.

At Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports and strengthens our electrical grid, critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.

About the Role

At Torus, we “Value Speed and Quality Equally,” which means world-class project management is a must. As a Project Manager on the Hardware team, you will bridge product development, manufacturing, quality, and field operations to deliver energy storage systems on aggressive timelines. Success in this role requires understanding context across the organization, communicating priorities clearly, and ensuring teams stay aligned and moving fast. This isn't a traditional project manager role. It's about making sure the right work happens at the right time for the right reasons.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Hardware, and work cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, quality, and field operations teams to coordinate delivery of all Torus products.

Who You Are

You thrive at the intersection of technical depth and cross-functional pace — equally comfortable in a design review and a shop-floor huddle. You bring:

A systems thinker, not just a scheduler You see how a firmware delay ripples into manufacturing and field support, and you plan accordingly. Reflecting our principle to Think About Systems and Data Holistically .
A bias for clarity over noise You cut through complex technical discussions to give teams a clear answer, an owner, and a deadline. Answer First , every time.
A builder of trust, not just timelines You earn credibility across electrical, mechanical, firmware, quality, and field teams by Seeking Context First . Understanding their constraints before asking them to move faster.
Someone who holds the line on both speed and craftsmanship You push urgency without cutting corners, because at Torus we Value Speed & Quality Equally . Do it nice, or do it twice.
A customer-first prioritizer When trade-offs get hard, you know the Customer Breaks the Tie . And you make sure the team does too.
Comfortable in ambiguity Fast scale-up means incomplete information; you define a path forward anyway, communicating progress and setbacks with Transparent, Direct updates.
Steady under pressure You approach technical blockers and field escalations with a Cautiously Optimistic mindset. Realistic about the obstacle and confident in the team's ability to solve it.
A simplifier You turn complex engineering trade-offs into documentation and stand-ups that keep people aligned without adding bureaucracy. Keep It Simple .

Responsibilities

Break down complex work into achievable phases with clear success criteria
Proactively identify risks technical, resource, and supply chain blockers and drive mitigation plans
Define and track milestones across product development and manufacturing programs
Manage schedules including tasks, dependencies, and timelines across multiple engineering disciplines
Allocate engineering resources effectively, tracking workload and capacity
Monitor progress against plans, identify delays early, and escape risks appropriately

Cross-Functional Coordination

Build relationships and trust across cross-functional teams
Facilitate communication between engineering, quality, manufacturing, production, and field operations
Provide context on why work matters, including customer needs, timeline drivers, technical trade-offs
Manage handoffs between product development, manufacturing, and quality teams
Ensure manufacturing and field learnings drive product improvements by creating a culture of continuous retrospectives
Lead daily team stand‑ups with a strong sense of urgency and accelerate team delivery

Execution & Problem Solving
