Location:Eastern Carolinas (Hybrid – combination of remote work, Duke Energy facilities, and field travel)
Schedule:Full-time, 4x10s (Monday–Thursday)
Salary Range: $70 - 80/ hour
IntroductionOur Client is seeking an experienced and driven
Project Manager to support the operational readiness of new solar and battery storage facilities in the Carolinas. This role bridges the gap between construction, commissioning, and long-term operations, ensuring a smooth transition to a fully functioning, commercially operational plant. The ideal candidate will have a background in plant operations, project management, and cross-team coordination, and will thrive in a role that involves extensive collaboration and travel.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience
OR High School Diploma/GED and 8 years related experience

Strong background in plant operations, project coordination, or engineering

Ability to travel extensively across the Eastern Carolinas (personal vehicle used; mileage reimbursed)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work on-site at different facilities as needed
Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or project management

3–5 years plant operations experience (including major projects or plant modifications)

Power plant operations management, outage management, or construction management experience

Experience with solar or battery storage maintenance and operations
-
Proficiency in project scheduling, cost controls, and risk management

Previous experience as a Plant Integration Site Lead

Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Serve as the primary operations representative for new solar and storage projects

Coordinate with project teams (PMC, EPC, RRE, EHS, Supply, and others) to ensure readiness for operational turnover

Participate in site visits, walkdowns, and quality inspections

Oversee equipment inspections, circuit verifications, and commissioning readiness activities

Develop staffing and onboarding plans for new facilities, including hiring support

Ensure operator training, operating procedures, maintenance plans, and spare parts are in place before commercial operation

Track integration activities, provide regular progress reports, and update PIT readiness tools

Collaborate with spare parts planners and database administrators to align with project timelines

Manage the PIT project budget and report financial status to leadership
