Job Summary
Technical Device Manager, UI Tech works within Marcom Technical Services team and support screens and content production projects. The role is primarily responsible for taking screenshots and on-device video captures that will ultimately end up in our marketing materials or used as reference for our animation department. You will also assist in setting up and maintaining a secure lab which houses all the devices needed to facilitate the production of content use in marketing materials. You will need to ensure all devices are up to date with the latest software builds, ready to be provided to either creative or production teams.
The role supports our producers and creatives and provide product expertise before, during and in post for productions. They know anything and everything about our Apple devices and larger ecosystem of services. They ensure released and unreleased products remain true to function and act as a liaison between engineering, product marketing, Brand, Screens and Content production. They also work with Creatives to prototype, load, and screen capture content on devices.
Description
As a member of the UI Tech team, you will play a critical role in helping the production team create marketing deliverables for Apple’s released and unreleased products.
- Provide technical product expertise to our producers and creatives throughout production
- Provide clarity on usage scenarios, device / app behaviors in line with real-life on-device functionality and feature availability
- Responsible for screen captures, data management, and content loading on devices
- Troubleshoot devices and device networking issues
- Create and load screens on our devices, as needed
- Be the liaison between all of our cross functionals teams and a resource to answer all technical questions about our products
- Follow security protocols on set and make sure our devices and IP are not exposed
- Continuously learn and be an expert in everything Apple
- Willingness to go above and beyond
Key Responsibilities:
• You have at least 3 to 5 years of supporting production teams in some sort of technical capacity.
• You have strong troubleshooting skills and can quickly diagnose and solve technical problems on-site or remotely.
• Basic understanding of video production and animation.
• You have experience with current video capturing practices and technologies as it relates to video production
• You have experience in tracking, managing and maintaining an ecosystem of devices.
• You are a strong problem solver with a demonstrated track record for delivering operational support to a board range of creative and production teams.
• You are a strong collaborator and communicator who is capable of working in a highly cross-functional environment to achieve success.
• You are deeply organized and have a strong attention to detail.
• Experience with localization is a plus.
Key Qualifications
Must be hands-on and have a deep understanding of Apple hardware and software products. They also have experience working in a production environment.

- Experience using creative tools such as Photoshop, Final Cut a plus
- Unix scripting and command line experience a plus

- Ability to remain calm under pressure while delivering an exceptional customer and client experience.
Requirements:
• Support the day-to-day device needs of the WW Screen Production and broader creatives teams.
• Support the day-to-day device needs of Geo CPM teams in-geo and throughout Workshop sessions.
• Setup and maintain a secure lab for the purpose of both housing devices and facilitating usage of those devices.
• Provide technical support to creative and production teams.
• Pickup and distribute equipment across offices in the Bay Area.
• Due to the technical and confidential nature of this position, you are required to be on-site in Sunnyvale - Monday through Friday with some weekend work during launch periods
Additional Requirements
- Occasionally required to spend long periods of time at a computer screen.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week from the main office.
- Overtime hours may be required depending on project, with little or zero notice.
- Must be able to time manage effectively to ensure deadlines, schedules, as well as meetings are not missed
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree preferred
- 3 to 5 years working in a technical production role
- Experience working Apple products both hardware and software
- Good understanding of production and/or design workflows
- Apple Genius experience a plus
