Overview
Microsoft AI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Product Manager in our Monetization team to drive growth for Copilot Subscriptions. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic vision, development, and execution of this strategy across Copilot and Microsoft 365. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of Growth experiments, SKU solutions, and matching value with pricing that meets the needs of our consumer customers and partners.
Demonstrated success in driving consumer subscription growth at leading technology and AI companies such as Spotify, YouTube, Google, Snap, OpenAI, and Anthropic would be a huge plus.
Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with growth experimentation, partner distribution strategies, and scaling subscription models. Familiarity with best practices from top-tier subscription services is essential, showcasing a proven ability to innovate and optimize user acquisition, retention, and monetization in dynamic, high-growth environments.
The role requires a mix of direct ownership and dotted line influence, particularly in areas like Copilot features and M365.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join Microsoft's Monetization team at a pivotal time in the evolution of Copilot Subscriptions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future of subscription revenue across Microsoft's AI-powered products and services.
Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
- Lead revenue on our emerging monetization model of subscriptions on Copilot, jointly aligned with M365. Drive growth experiments, SKU structure including partner distribution SKUs, and organizational alignment across Copilot and Enterprise & Devices.
- Deeply understand and influence the Copilot feature set, strategy and roadmap to capitalize on existing and influence new feature development aligned with subscription value. Understand the COGS footprint, usage shaping, and revenue obligation of existing and new features to align with subscription tiers.
- Partner closely with one of Microsoft's strongest growth engines in M365 to align and combine Copilot Subscription offering, experimentation and growth.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership and Influence: Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across a complex organization.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of user and subscription growth, LLM chat models and features, with experience of fast experimentation and iteration.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in managing and leveraging user and business data for growth optimization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with various teams, including product, engineering, design, marketing, and data science, to drive growth.
- Stakeholder Management: Proficiency working with a diverse set of stakeholders across surfaces, mindsets and approaches, ranging from decades old properties with significant scale to new startup mode innovative AI nascent properties and bets.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute a strategic vision for subscription revenue, with a focus on innovation and growth.
Product Management IC6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
