Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sr. Project Manager to lead and deliver high-impact capital projects at a large industrial manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineering and project management professional who thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment and has a proven track record of managing projects from concept through commissioning.
The successful candidate will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring that scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives are met while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, engineering teams, contractors, and leadership. You will play a critical role in driving operational improvements and supporting long-term facility growth through the successful execution of complex capital initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead capital projects through all phases, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, supply chain, contractors, and project stakeholders to drive alignment and resolve issues.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable safety standards, engineering best practices, and industry regulations.
- Monitor and communicate project status, milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies to leadership and stakeholders.
- Oversee design reviews, procurement activities, contractor performance, and project documentation.
- Facilitate project kickoff meetings, progress reviews, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the transition of completed projects to operations with organized documentation and effective handoff processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in project engineering and project management within chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, or similar industrial environments.
- Proven success managing large-scale capital projects using a structured stage-gate or similar project delivery methodology.
- Demonstrated experience executing all phases of capital project management, from front-end engineering and design through startup and project closeout.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety standards, engineering principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organization.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite during key phases of project execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience serving as an owner's representative within a manufacturing or process industry environment.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously across varying stages of execution.
- Experience collaborating with contractors, engineering firms, and cross-functional project teams in complex industrial settings.
