We are partnering with our client to hire an Environmental Project Manager over Waste Compliance to work at a facility in Kansas City.
Compensation is between $85K and $95K!
This position will be onsite managing the client relationship in addition to providing leadership over hazardous and non-hazardous waste and sustainability efforts.
- Must Have:5+ year of experience with environmental waste, sustainability, and recycling
- RCRA and DOT experience
- BS in Environmental or Chemistry related subject
- One or all of these: RCRA, Waste profiling, characterizing, scheduling, manifesting, DOT, labeling, recycling, shipping
JOB DUTIES:
- Ensure Waste Management contract requirements are being met, with emphasis on environmental compliance.
- Provide leadership for Waste Management Team including safety and compliance with government regulations, policies, and corporate procedures.
- Preparing as much as possible for emergencies
- Perform regular satellite and hazardous waste area inspections on a regular basis to ensure good understanding of building operations, compliance, and waste generation.
- Support waste reduction and landfill free initiatives including finding solutions for hard to manage waste streams.
- Vet potential vendors who are not currently approved to ensure they meet approval criteria.
- Communicate with integrated team, subcontractors and supervisors any changes or discrepancies in contract and subcontract requirements, financial and service issues, or other changes.
- Ensure manifest tracking logs and Waste Characterization Binders are accurate
- Coordinate coverage for absent staff members to ensure seamless operations, specifically to document hazardous waste inspections on every 7 day schedule.
- Responds to all RFQ's, be aware of when work will be done, obtain customer Purchase Orders, assist with problem resolution, and accurately invoice customer
- Review all plant volume reports to analyze contract performance.
- Provide support to finance team
- Manage ESG budget.
- Prepare data and provide information to Customer for regulatory and facility reports and documents.
- Supervise Safety Manager, Site Supervisor, and Technician Team
- Prepare and conduct training including environmental awareness, work instructions, and DOT/RCRA refresher courses
- Actively participate in audits and/or inspections
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years related experience or Bachelor's degree in related field and two years related experience
Strong knowledge of government environmental and DOT regulations
Ability to use and create Excel, Word, and Power Point applications.
Ability to effectively present information.
Strong management and communication skills.
Must be willing to be on call 24/7.
