Opportunity Overview
- Pace is seeking a temporary Project Manager to backfill an employee going on FMLA leave around early October.
- Apex will source both PM1 and PM2 level candidates; final leveling will depend on candidate experience and Pace's assessment.
- Initial contract expected to be approximately 4–5 months with right-to-hire potential if business needs and performance align.
Target Timeline
- Desired start date is around early September to allow knowledge transfer prior to FMLA leave.
- Pace is open to reviewing candidates immediately and could potentially onboard earlier if the right candidate is identified.
- Position Scope
- Manage client projects from initiation through completion.
- Own project plans, action trackers, timelines, risk management, and client communications.
- Lead client meetings, establish meeting cadence, and provide project status updates.
- Coordinate across laboratory operations, sample management, and client stakeholders.
- Support testing programs including raw materials, stability testing, method development, and related laboratory services.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Required
- Bachelor's degree.
- Project management experience in life sciences, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO/CDMO, or related environments.
- Strong organization, prioritization, communication, and customer service skills.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities.
Preferred
- LIMS experience (system-specific knowledge not required).
- Experience with laboratory workflows and scientific environments.
- Ability to build project plans and manage projects independently.
- Familiarity with sample management processes, analysis request forms (ARFs), and client-facing project coordination.

Team Structure & Environment
- Oakdale PM team consists of approximately 12 project management professionals with a mix of senior PMs, PM2s, PM1s, and support personnel.
- Highly collaborative environment with strong mentoring support.
- New hire will report through Giana Tavares and Nicole Shearer.
- Extensive one-on-one onboarding and side-by-side training provided.
Location & Schedule
- Strong preference for local Oakdale candidates. Remote candidates will be considered.
- Prefer candidates in Eastern, Central, or Minnesota time zones.
- Standard schedule is approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with some flexibility based on client needs.
- Pace provides laptop and VPN access.
