About this role
The Product Director within Gartner Product Management (GPM) plays a key role in developing and enhancing Gartner’s product solutions, ensuring our offerings meet the evolving needs of our clients and drive measurable business impact. This Product Director role within Gartner’s billion-–dollar High Tech and Invest business focuses on product development and management for Buy-–side and Sell-–side clients, including Investment Banking, Asset Management, Private Equity, and Venture Capital firms. The Product Director will develop and manage products targeted for investment professionals (Managing Directors, Operating Partners, Portfolio Managers) who make important investment decisions that drive capital markets.
What you will do
Product Vision and Strategy
- Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a portfolio of Invest products, aligned to Gartner’s growth and client-–impact priorities
- Continually learn and obtain feedback on our clients and users of our products – understand their needs, challenges and priorities – to inform product strategy and identify product and feature innovations that will drive client engagement and satisfaction
- Understand decision-making workflows of investment professionals (e.g., screening, diligence, portfolio management, exits) with deep customer obsession that will identify unique product opportunities
Product Execution & Iteration
- Conceptualize, pilot and iterate on offerings that deliver measurable client value and strong product-\u2011market fit
- Create, launch, track and iterate on new products and value-add features that will drive value to our clients; features will cover a wide range of value sources such as technology, data, peer connections and events, expert interactions and new research publications
Commercial Impact & Growth
- Drive go-to-market efforts from adoption to retention, identifying and working with cross-functional partners to reduce barriers to product usage and success
- Track critical product and business metrics to continuously iterate and improve value proposition
- Partner with Sales and Service to scale client impact, positioning products as essential to their investment workflows
Collaboration & Influence
- Lead brainstorming & collaborative problem-solving sessions with your partners in Research, Sales and Service delivery
- Partner with cross-functional teams to solve problems, prioritize opportunities and build momentum for adoption and growth
- Leverage Gartner’s AI-driven tools to calibrate client-facing value delivery
- Deliver regular updates and insights to key stakeholders and product leadership, ensuring alignment and visibility into progress
What you will need
- Customer obsession, product craft and commercial acumen – demonstrated ability to translate insights into products that delight customers and drive business outcomes
- 7–10 years professional experience with meaningful depth in product management, strategy/management consulting and capital market roles (buy-side or sell-side)
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytics skills, with the ability to turn insights into actionable recommendations and measurable impact
- Ability to influence and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the executive presence to simplify complexity for senior audiences
- Practical experience applying AI and emerging technologies to enhance workflows and outputs
- A bias for action, ability to balance trade-\u201ofs, prioritize for business impact, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
