Job Summary
Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Program Director to lead its new Transitional Year GME Residency Program in Augusta, GA. The Program Director will provide leadership, organization, and general administration of the program, ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements while fostering a high-quality educational environment for residents pursuing diverse specialty pathways.
Qualifications
- MD/DO
- Board certified or board eligible in an applicable ABMS member board such as Internal Medicine
- 3+ years of educational and administrative experience
- Prior experience as a Program Director or Associate Program Director required
- Willing to work clinically and devote significant professional effort to program administration
- Strong administrative and team‑building skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have or be able to obtain an active GA medical license prior to start
- No history of license revocation, restriction or suspension by any professional licensing agency in any state or jurisdiction
Responsibilities
- Authority and accountability for the operation of the Transitional Year residency program
- Development of curriculum, policies and procedures for the program
- Maintain ACGME accreditation, compliance and state approval
- Recruit residents into the program and develop evaluation processes for performance
- Participate in competency evaluations of residents
- Coordinate rotations across multiple departments
- Ensure curriculum supports diverse career pathways and specialties
- Ensure overall program excellence in collaboration with a committed faculty team
