Adult Epilepsy Program Director
Position in the Department of Neurology at Dell Medical School, University of Texas at Austin, in collaboration with Ascension Healthcare. The Physician will develop and lead the adult epilepsy program, expanding medical and surgical services, engaging in strategic planning, quality improvement, and research collaboration. Responsibilities include clinical care, education, and program development.
Expected Duties
- Lead the planned expansion of medical and surgical epilepsy services at Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas (DSMCUT).
- Participate in strategic planning and program development of epilepsy services.
- Develop partnerships with regional referring physicians and hospitals.
- Support epilepsy‑related quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the DMS pediatric epilepsy program at Dell Children’s Medical Center.
- Facilitate research and scholarly activities by colleagues and trainees.
- Participate in teaching medical students and residents in neurology and other disciplines.
Qualifications (Required)
- Candidates must have an MD or DO degree.
- Eligible for appointment as an associate professor or professor.
- Board‑certification in neurology and in epilepsy.
- Record of leadership and achievement related to epilepsy.
- Experience in comprehensive medical and surgical management of individuals with epilepsy, including pre‑ and post‑surgical evaluation and treatment.
- Hiring is contingent upon obtaining a Texas medical license and the appropriate hospital privileges.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- At least 4 years of post‑fellowship clinical experience in epilepsy.
- A record of progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Experience with value‑based care delivery.
- Experience delivering care through a multidisciplinary team.
- Research experience related to clinical or translational neurosciences.
