Project Manager – Inventory and Cost Accounting

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead our initiative focused on optimizing inventory valuation, cost accounting processes, and profit recognition across global manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will join the IT Corporate Systems team, driving the implementation of this workstream, including the elimination of profit in inventory as part of a Next Generation Finance project. The role involves close collaboration with Finance, Operations, and IT teams to enhance manufacturing cost accounting processes.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end implementation of the Inventory and Cost Accounting project across multiple global manufacturing facilities, ensuring compliance with financial policies and manufacturing excellence initiatives.
Partner with plant controllers and operations teams to analyze and standardize inventory valuation methodologies and cost accounting practices.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
Implement standardized inventory valuation processes across facilities, ensuring consistent application of accounting principles and cost methodologies.
Conduct cross-functional workshops to gather requirements, document processes, and validate solutions.
Collaborate with external consultants and system integrators to deploy technical solutions supporting improved inventory and cost accounting practices.
Monitor project metrics and KPIs, providing regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
7+ years of project management experience in manufacturing operations, with success in large-scale transformation initiatives.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and operational excellence methodologies.
Experience with ERP system implementation or optimization in manufacturing environments.
Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
Experience with change management frameworks.
PMP certification preferred; Six Sigma certification a plus.
Experience with MES and inventory management systems is advantageous.
