Job Overview
The Senior Application Programmer is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The role actively engages in all aspects of the SDLC including gathering functional and non‑functional requirements, designing solutions, conducting code reviews, testing, and deploying applications in accordance with Citi's policies.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise in application programming and ensure designs adhere to the overall architecture blueprint.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Develop and maintain a suite of Cash Equities applications.
- Design solutions, coordinate delivery, investigate production incidents, and participate in L2/L3 support activities.
- Develop technical solutions to meet business requirements, considering recommended technologies, non‑functional requirements, internal policies, and procedures.
- Participate in all elements of the SDLC from gathering business requirements and analysis through code reviews, testing, and deployment.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with peers, local and global technology team members, and local business stakeholders.
- Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets, and driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Comply with the ethical standards contained in the Code of Conduct.
- Maintain compliance with applicable policies and report control issues with transparency.
Key Competencies
- 8+ years of relevant experience in Java.
- Strong knowledge of Linux, relational databases, and scripting languages.
- In-depth knowledge of stock market trading, FIX protocol, and proven experience in front and middle office systems.
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
- Experience working with SpringBoot, Solace, AMPS, and GitHub is a nice to have.
- Experience working effectively with remote teams across different time zones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
- Master’s degree preferred.
