About the Team
Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) comprises many of Capital One’s most important enterprise platforms. We establish practices for building technology solutions across the company and deliver capabilities that exemplify those practices.
As a TPM in EPTech, you will leverage your technical acumen and engineering experience to drive the strategy and execution of large‑scale, technically complex, cross‑functional programs aligned with Capital One’s business priorities. You’ll break down complexity and organizational silos, influence roadmaps, dive deep into system design and architecture, make technical tradeoffs, drive platform consolidation, and identify, resolve, define, and elevate mitigation plans for hard technical dependencies.
Leadership and Technical Expectations
- Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life‑cycle
- Experience building and leading a world‑class team of technical program managers with a mission to power real‑time, intelligent experiences for our customers and associates
- Lead technology focused discussions with senior leadership by providing valuable insights and recommendations that guide technology‑based decisions
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
- A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions; a systems thinker
- Ability to simplify the technically complex and drive well‑educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives
- Deep focus on execution, follow‑through, accountability, and results
- Exceptional cross‑team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 9 years of experience managing technical programs
Preferred Qualifications
- 9+ years of experience designing and building data‑intensive solutions using distributed computing.
- 5+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture - preferably using AWS
- 5+ years of building & leading experienced TPM team
- 5+ years experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms
- 5+ years of experience with Agile delivery

New York, NY: $294,100 - $335,700 for Sr. Director, Technical Program Management
Plano, TX: $245,100 - $279,800 for Sr. Director, Technical Program Management
Richmond, VA: $245,100 - $279,800 for Sr. Director, Technical Program Management
San Francisco, CA: $294,100 - $335,700 for Sr. Director, Technical Program Management
