Technical Data Product Manager (Data Governance)
This role is ideal for a Technical Product Manager or Data Product Manager who enjoys working at the intersection of data, engineering, governance, and business , bringing structure to complex technical initiatives while driving product execution.
Position Summary
Seeking a Technical Data Product Manager to drive the delivery and operational management of internal data governance products. This role will partner closely with engineering, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define requirements, manage product backlogs, prioritize initiatives, and improve data governance, access management, and product operations. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, thrives in Agile environments, and can translate business needs into actionable product solutions.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager, Data Product Manager, Product Owner, or Technical Business Analyst
- Strong understanding of SQL , data platforms, and data ecosystems
- Experience managing product backlogs, user stories, roadmaps, and Agile/Scrum delivery
- Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Experience working closely with engineering, business, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata, or data catalog concepts
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
- Experience with Jira or similar Agile project management tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Familiarity with data pipelines, DevOps, CI/CD, and software development lifecycle
- Experience with BigID, Anomalo, Elation , or similar data governance and data quality tools
- Exposure to Identity & Access Management (IAM) or access governance
- Scrum leadership or Product Owner experience
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full product lifecycle for internal data governance and data platform initiatives
- Define and prioritize product roadmaps, backlogs, and user stories
- Gather and document business and technical requirements
- Partner with engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts across engineering, business, UX, and compliance teams
- Support product launches, issue management, and continuous product improvements
- Monitor product performance, KPIs, and user feedback to drive enhancements
- Research new technologies and recommend improvements to existing products and processes
- Help establish Agile best practices and support Scrum ceremonies
