Residency Program Director – Rural Family Medicine
Title and Location: WVU Department of Family Medicine Residency Program Director, Rural Family Medicine Residency Program, Harpers Ferry Family Medicine. Position is located in Martinsburg, WV.
Responsibilities
- Program administration and operations
- Resident recruitment and selection
- Education within patient care context
- Supervision, assessment, promotion, and disciplinary actions
- Scholarly activity
- Establishment of an effective learning climate at all teaching sites
- Practice in Family Medicine providing excellent patient care
- Active teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows as applicable
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent, eligible for state medical license
- Completed a Family Medicine residency program
- At least three years of documented educational, administrative, GME experience
- Current certification by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment
Compliance and Governance
The program director complies with the requirements of the WVUSOM, WVU Medicine, WVU Medicine East, the bylaws of WVU's Affiliated Hospitals, the Joint Commission, the American Board of Family Medicine, and the NRMP.
Reporting & Leadership
The director reports directly to the Regional Chair, Department Chair, and Central GME at WVU School of Medicine. The director collaborates with the Residency Leadership Team, including Associate Program Director(s), Residency Program Administrator, Residency Program Coordinator, and chief residents.
