About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Housing Program Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support housing assistance programs by managing caseloads, assisting tenants and landlords, conducting eligibility reviews, and ensuring compliance with HUD regulations. What You’ ll Do Client Support & Customer Service Provide exceptional service to applicants, tenants, and property owners Explain program rules, requirements, and processes clearly Respond promptly to phone calls and written inquiries Present program information through outreach efforts and seminars Monitor and assist with repayment agreements Program Operations & Caseload Management Manage an assigned caseload of Section 8 participants Conduct annual, interim, and special recertifications Review and process required documentation Determine eligibility and issue housing vouchers Coordinate orientations and briefing sessions Conduct client interviews Apply HUD regulations and Housing Quality Standards Negotiate rents with landlords and schedule inspections Maintain accurate and organized case files Compliance, Reporting & Terminations Prepare reports, correspondence, and case documentation Monitor for program violations and recommend corrective action Represent the organization in hearings, tenant conferences, and court proceedings Assist in resolving disputes and conflict situations when needed Additional Responsibilities Support senior staff as needed Participate in team meetings and performance improvement efforts Maintain a valid driver’ s license and meet driving standards What We’ re Looking For High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 2 years of experience in housing programs, eligibility determination, case management, administrative support, or customer service Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail skills Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and regulations Comfortable working with diverse communities and managing high-volume workloads
