Job Summary
Benton County is currently seeking a Behavioral Health Program Specialist. Join the Benton County Behavioral Health Division and play a key role in strengthening the systems that support high-quality behavioral health services for our community. This position serves as a vital link between clinical teams, information systems; ensuring accurate data, efficient workflows, and reliable technological support across the division. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment where collaboration, problem-solving, and technical expertise directly contribute to improved client care, program accountability, and the overall effectiveness of Behavioral Health operations. Hybrid Work Option: The responsibilities of this position are such that the successful candidate may be able to perform some assignments remotely following Benton County's Telework Policy and as the needs of the division allows. However, a fully remote work environment is not an option. The initial training period will require a period of on-site presence to gain understanding of job expectations and responsibilities.

- Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate; and
- 2 years of progressively responsible experience in position or specialization.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Applicants must have at least 6 months of work experience to receive equivalency. Special requirements:
- Hiring is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
- Valid Oregon driver's license or the ability to obtain.
- This position requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle.
Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of clinical information systems and data tools, including experience working with OCHIN, electronic health records, Microsoft Office Programs, and technology used in behavioral health settings.
- Knowledge of Behavioral Health system operations
- Ability to evaluate and improve Behavioral Health workflows, identifying efficiencies and supporting program-specific process improvements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including internal staff, community partners, state agencies, and the public—both in person and through phone, email, web platforms, and social media.
- Ability to participate in and contribute to inter-disciplinary teams, county initiatives, conferences, and professional presentations as required.
- Skill in maintaining professionalism when handling sensitive information, including compliance with confidentiality standards, accurate documentation practices, and appropriate judgment in complex or crisis-related situations.
- Skill in providing technical support and training, including onboarding, refresher, and program-specific training Skill in supporting staff with OCHIN and related technologies, including troubleshooting, workflow clarification, and collaboration with SOS and IT support teams to maintain BH-specific programming.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to balance multiple technical support activities, trainings, administrative requests, and program initiatives simultaneously.
- Skill in coordinating division-wide trainings, staff meetings, onboarding processes, and general administrative functions, ensuring materials, logistics, and communication are accurate and timely.
