Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced
AV Field Project Manager to oversee on-site audio-visual installations, manage field teams, and ensure project execution meets safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements. This role requires both
hands-on technical expertise and strong
leadership skills .
Key Responsibilities - Supervise technicians and perform hands-on tasks in shop fabrication and on job sites.
- Lead and train field technicians on safety standards, AV installation best practices, and internal processes.
- Coordinate staffing and resources with the AV Project Manager to support installation plans.
- Verify technicians have required tools, equipment, materials, and PPE prior to work.
- Conduct site surveys, confirm trade work completion, and assess job site readiness.
- Facilitate installation kick-offs and lead crews according to project plans.
- Perform quality inspections throughout the installation process and at completion.
- Provide technical guidance to field staff and subcontractors as needed.
- Stay current with emerging AV technologies and participate in ongoing training.
Requirements Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in commercial audio-visual systems and installations.
- Strong understanding of AV infrastructure, blueprints, scopes of work, and technical documentation.
- Experience with control systems (e.g., QSC, Logitech, Extron) and touch panel programming a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership and team-management experience.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- OSHA certification (10-hr or 30-hr) and AV industry certifications (e.g., CTS, CTS-I) are a plus.
