Position Summary
A respected commercial glass and glazing contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, technical excellence, and leadership within the project management process.
The Senior Project Manager will oversee select glazing projects from start to finish while also serving as a technical resource and mentor for other members of the project management team. This person will help drive quality and consistency across all active projects by reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and technical details to ensure accuracy and constructability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multiple commercial glazing projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule goals are met.
- Conduct technical reviews of drawings, submittals, and documentation to verify compliance and design intent.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Project Managers, helping identify potential design or coordination issues before they impact production.
- Work closely with drafting teams, engineers, and field staff to coordinate details and resolve challenges in a proactive manner.
- Support ongoing improvement of internal project standards, documentation, and best practices.
- Evaluate technical aspects of changes, scope clarifications, and potential risks that could affect project cost or timelines.
- Partner with leadership to provide feedback on team performance, process improvement, and overall project health.
Qualifications
- 8 to 10 years of experience managing commercial glass and glazing projects or similar building envelope work.
- Thorough understanding of curtain wall, storefront, and glazing systems, as well as related materials and hardware.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering preferred, though extensive hands‑on experience will be considered.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Pro DC, and Procore.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with proven success mentoring other project managers or team members.
- Detail‑oriented, technically minded, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Highly self‑driven with a problem‑solving mindset and a collaborative approach to project delivery.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, or climb ladders for extended periods during site visits.
- Comfortable navigating active construction sites and working in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally (project materials, plans, samples).
