About The Job
Operating within the Project Architecture & Delivery team within Global Operations, the Tecsys Project Manager works closely with the customer project manager to provide overall project management for customer implementations. The Project Architecture & Delivery team focuses on solutioning and architecting Tecsys implementations from the Sales cycle onward, developing and continuously improving our proprietary implementation methodology and managing Tecsys deliveries. The Project Manager will oversee multiple concurrent projects and coordinate the technical and functional activities involved.
Supported by a Tecsys Project Advisor and Executive Sponsor, the Project Manager ensures successful implementations, allocates resources, defines priorities, and coordinates interactions with stakeholders. The role involves evaluating effort and risks, driving the project team toward the right goals, and adhering to the Tecsys Project Management and Implementation methodology to ensure quality artifacts and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple software implementation projects concurrently, from start to finish
- Oversee end-to-end budget lifecycle, including resource planning, forecasting, time reporting, and invoicing in coordination with the Finance Department
- Define and document project scope, schedule, milestones, and deliverables that support customers' business objectives in partnership with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure project alignment with internal proprietary methodology and best practices to enforce standards and delivery quality
- Direct and coordinate the activities of a multi-disciplinary team within a matrix organization to ensure on-schedule and on-budget delivery
- Track project progress, anticipate risks, define contingency plans, and communicate with stakeholders
- Lead regular status meetings with internal and customer project teams and communicate expected activities, deliverables and timing
- Ensure all customer commitments and milestones are followed through to completion
- Report weekly on project status to internal and external stakeholders
- Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with internal partners and external vendors/consultants
- Support architecting/estimating of sales opportunities and the creation of Statements of Work (senior positions may lead these initiatives)
- Provide guidance, coaching, and advice to less experienced staff
Requirements & Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large complex software implementation projects as a service provider to external customers, related to Warehousing, Distribution, Retail or ERP projects
- Experience in Healthcare/Hospital industry or in Supply Chain, Logistics & Complex Distribution
- Knowledge of project management processes (planning, resource scheduling, stakeholder management, financial management, issue/risk management)
- Understanding of project delivery methodologies and their application in formal environments
- Ability to develop reliable project timelines and deliver against them
- Strong communication with end users, IT, employees, and vendors/consultants
- Proven track record of managing large, high-complexity projects with multiple vendors and solutions (budgets of at least $2 million)
- Strong customer management skills
- Expert user of project management software
- PMP certification would be a plus
- Travel within North America up to 20%
- Strong proficiency in written and verbal English for effective communication with clients, suppliers, partners and colleagues
