Senior Project Manager - Federal Architecture )
HDR is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Federal Architecture Practice in either Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. In this role, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams throughout a project’s lifecycle, from development and initiation to close‑out, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate work of single or multi‑discipline teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (from development & initiation to close‑out).
- Manage all aspects of large, multi‑discipline projects or medium‑sized projects with high technical complexity, involving a large project staff.
- Produce and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
- Establish and maintain client relations; participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
- Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders.
- Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, ensuring completion of deliverables on schedule.
- Track financial aspects of projects; adjust work effort to keep work within agreed‑to budget and schedule.
- Work with Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
- Implement QA/QC procedures.
- Supervise large project staff and mentor less‑experienced Project Managers.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience successfully managing large federal projects and teams.
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED.
- PMP certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
- 10 years of related experience.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Registered Architect.
- Ability to lead a team on projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).
- Knowledge and experience within the local and regional market.
- Strong planning and mentoring skills.
