Overview
Primarily involved with assisting staff with field tasks supporting geotechnical projects. Responsibilities include clearly documenting site observations for both construction materials testing (CMT) and geotechnical field work performed.
Responsibilities
- Assist staff with field tasks supporting geotechnical projects
- Clearly document site observations for CMT and geotechnical field work
- With limited supervision, assist with or perform the following: perform boring and test pit layouts; prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances; perform research on local geologic history; assist with supervision of field work performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues; perform in-situ testing; classify soils; keep project staff informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites
Qualifications
- Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
- No experience required
- Professional license is not required in this position but is necessary to progress in career
- If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required
