The Technical Project Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) launch.
This role is responsible for creating and maintaining a highly detailed, integrated project plan, coordinating cross‑functional teams, driving execution, and ensuring a successful go‑live and hypercare period.
The position requires hands‑on execution leadership, strong technical fluency, and the ability to manage complex dependencies, risks, and milestones across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the master program plan, including a detailed Gantt‑level timeline covering workstreams, dependencies, milestones, critical path, go‑live, and hypercare activities.
- Establish clear rules for plan structure, ownership, acceptance criteria, and change control to ensure the plan remains a trusted source of truth.
- Drive execution by partnering with Engineering, Product, Operations/Fulfillment, IT, vendors, and leaders to secure LOEs, timelines, resource commitments, and task accountability.
- Identify roadblocks early, elevate appropriately, clarify decision ownership, and drive alignment on tradeoffs.
- Manage risks and dependencies through a structured RAID process tied to critical path and operational impact.
- Define leading indicators ("tripwires"), assign mitigation ownership, and ensure risks are tied to go/no‑go readiness.
- Lead stakeholder communications with strong relationship‑building across workstreams, uncovering gaps, risks, and success criteria through context‑driven questioning.
- Establish and run cadences including standups, milestone reviews, and executive readouts with clear agendas and actionable outputs.
- Build intake and triage systems for incoming requests, establishing prioritization and lightweight change control to protect launch‑critical work.
- Coordinate operational readiness including testing preparation, integration sequencing, cutover/data needs, training, SOP readiness, staffing, phased rollout planning, hypercare metrics, and contingency planning.
- Ensure high‑quality reporting including critical path shifts, top risks, mitigation plans, dependency status, and decision‑ready updates.
- Support cross‑team alignment to maintain timelines, clarify expectations, and ensure high‑quality delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Technical Project or Program Management delivering complex, multi‑year, cross‑functional, timeline‑critical programs.
- Proven experience building and managing highly detailed integrated project plans.
- Strong technical fluency with the ability to understand system architecture, integrations, sequencing, testing strategy, and cutover considerations.
- Experience managing system integration programs (e.g., OMS ? WMS, WMS ? Carrier).
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills with the ability to influence without authority and manage escalations.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet/MS Project, and Google Suite.
- Deep experience managing RAID processes, critical path, tripwires, change control, and go/no‑go criteria.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in supply chain, warehouse fulfillment, or Warehouse Management System (WMS) environments.
- Experience launching systems in operational settings such as distribution centers or fulfillment operations.
- Experience managing phased rollouts and hypercare support for large operational launches.
