What you'll do
- Lead the electronics projects from the initial idea stage through to prototyping, validation, and final production release, ensuring all phases are executed effectively.
- Develop and implement project plans utilizing sprint or milestone-based methodologies to enhance productivity and meet deadlines.
- Translate business and system requirements into actionable JIRA tasks and hardware work packages, facilitating clear communication and task management.
- Coordinate activities across various teams, including PCB design, firmware integration, hardware bring-up, and product testing, to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Manage interdependencies between the electronics, mechanics, and software departments, fostering collaboration and minimizing bottlenecks.
- Create and maintain schedules for board spins, prototype builds, and production timelines, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of progress.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain issues, component availability, and compliance requirements, proactively addressing potential challenges.
- Supervise validation processes, which include thermal, EMC, reliability, and safety testing, to ensure product quality and compliance with standards.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including BOMs, schematics, layout reviews, and revision logs, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Regularly report on project status and milestone progress to stakeholders, maintaining transparency and facilitating informed decision-making.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related field is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Technical or Electronics Project Manager role, specifically within hardware development environments.
- Strong technical knowledge in electronics design, encompassing both digital and analog circuits, embedded systems, and power electronics.
- Demonstrated success in managing the entire hardware lifecycle, from initial prototyping through to production ramp-up.
- A solid understanding of the interaction between firmware and hardware components.
- Hands-on experience with Confluence and JIRA for effective requirement management and project tracking.
- Familiarity with hardware risk management practices, including strategies for addressing long lead times and board re-spins.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are required.
- A background in complex mechatronic systems or robotics will be advantageous.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of functional safety concepts and relevant standards would be beneficial.
- Experience with regulatory certification processes and EMC compliance is a plus.
- A background in vendor and supply chain management can enhance your application.
- Proficiency in German or Mandarin is considered an asset.
- Willingness to travel for business purposes may be required on occasion.
