What you'll do
- Lead and manage data center construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring all phases are executed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met and quality standards are upheld.
- Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to stay on track with timelines and budgets.
- Facilitate regular communication with clients and stakeholders, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns or changes in scope.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize potential project disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present project reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and areas for improvement.
- Mentor and guide junior project team members, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance.
- Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and ensuring financial accountability.
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify new opportunities and contribute to proposal development for future projects.
- Utilize project management software and tools to streamline processes and enhance collaboration among team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, preferably within the data center or technology sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects, with a focus on data centers being highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar tools).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
- PMP certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
