We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Geotechnical Project Manager to join our dynamic team.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team in the Silicon Valley and Greater Bay Area. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in geotechnical engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to mentor Staff and Senior Staff engineers while fostering client relationships. This role requires collaboration with senior project managers and principal engineers and the ability to balance technical expertise, leadership, and business development to ensure project success and company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage geotechnical projects from project scoping to completion, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on geotechnical investigations, design, and analysis.
- Mentor and support Staff and Senior Staff engineers and field staff in their professional growth and development.
- Lead business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and engaging in client outreach.
- Oversee and perform the preparation of geotechnical reports, site assessments, and engineering recommendations.
- Ensure projects comply with industry standards, applicable code requirements, and company quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated solutions for complex engineering challenges.
- Conduct site visits and fieldwork as needed to support project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on geotechnical engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong track record of increasing responsibility and project management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (Civil) required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, teams, and client relationships effectively.
- Strong business development acumen, with experience in proposal writing and client engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop entry level to mid-level engineers and field staff.
- Willingness to work in a mix of office and field environments, including exposure to various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed for project work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on geotechnical engineering preferred.
- Geotechnical Engineer (GE) license, or ability to obtain certification within a reasonable time-frame.
- Familiarity with geotechnical software tools (e.g., SLIDE, SETTLE3, DEEPSOIL).
- Experience in business development and supporting the growth of new clients and project opportunities.

Compensation: $90,000 to $130,000, depending on experience.
