We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to oversee and guide large service engagements, involving teams of 35-50 individuals.
This role requires a balance of technical know-how, exceptional leadership abilities, and proven project management skills.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, IT, or MCA.
- 12 to 15 years of experience in technical project management, specifically in services for enterprise clients.
- Should have experience of executing Fixed Price projects, project planning & tracking using tools like Microsoft Project Planner.
- Familiarity with the architecture, design, and best practices of cloud-based data warehouses on Azure Data Services. Understanding of Azure Fabric services would be a plus.
- Proven experience in leading large teams and handling large-scale projects.
- Strong technical background with understanding and/or hands‑on experience on either one of the following ETL tools: Ab Initio, DataStage, Informatica, and SSIS. Experience with any 2 of these tools would be preferred.
- Proficient in project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- Exceptional client‑facing and internal communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
- Relevant professional certifications such as PMP would be a plus.
- Experience as a single point of contact from delivery, with demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and delivery commitments at an engagement level.
- Familiarity with delivery governance frameworks and experience setting up delivery dashboards, health checks, and reporting structures for large engagements.
- Exposure to drafting SOWs and change request processes in a services delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex technical projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Coordinate cross-project activities.
- Own the end-to-end delivery framework, ensuring consistent application of delivery standards, governance models, and best practices across the engagement.
- Act as the escalation point for delivery-related issues, driving resolution in coordination with internal teams and client stakeholders.
- Define and track key delivery metrics (KPIs/SLAs) to measure team performance, service quality, and overall engagement health.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by conducting retrospectives, identifying process gaps, and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with account and pre-sales teams to support scope definition, effort estimation, and proposal development for new or expanding engagements.
- Ensure smooth onboarding of new team members and maintain delivery continuity during transitions or ramp‑up phases.
Team Leadership
- Lead diverse project teams, including technical developers, business analysts, quality assurance, and other essential stakeholders.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and ensure regular communication of project updates and milestones.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, addressing concerns, and resolving conflicts or issues promptly.
Technical Guidance
- Offer technical guidance, ensuring that project deliverables meet the required standards and quality.
- Collaborate with architects and technical leads to ensure feasible project plans.
- Guide teams on best practices related to cloud-based data warehouses.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and devise contingency plans.
- Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
Resource Management
- Ensure optimal allocation and availability of resources throughout the project lifecycle.
Budgeting and Costing
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects remain within scope and on budget.
