Project Manager with Higher Education Experience (Universities, Colleges)

Location: 100% remote but local candidates can work onsite (Chicago, IL)

Duration: 12 months with multiple extensions

Responsibilities

Collect, analyze, and summarize information on project phases, tasks, duration, resources, and costs.
Participate in developing project plans, work breakdown structures, schedules, budgets, and resource assignments for management review and approval.
Act as liaison among internal and external stakeholders, business units, functional areas, and project development teams to ensure effective coordination.
Facilitate communication among project participants to expedite processes and resolve issues.
Schedule and lead meetings on project status, progress, and issue resolution.
Define project deliverables, establish review and approval processes, and specify quality criteria for deliverables.
Define project scope (subject to management approval), establish change control processes, and respond to scope change requests.
Build time estimates, develop project schedules, and address scheduling conflicts as they arise.
Develop, maintain, publish, and distribute comprehensive project plans.
Identify, mitigate, and recommend alternatives to manage risks and issues threatening project success.
Monitor and report project progress against objectives in terms of timeframes, scope, quality, cost, and risk.
Take a proactive approach to delivery by removing roadblocks and enabling team focus.
Prepare and present project status reports to senior management.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to document and obtain approvals for requirements, scope, milestones, and changes.
Manage project security assessments to ensure completeness and approval prior to Go-Live.
Develop and maintain project risk management plans, coordinating risk identification, quantification, response development, and control.
