Role Description
PPM Consultants is seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to join our Florida team. In this role, you'll lead petroleum remediation projects through Florida's Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP), managing projects from initiation through closure while collaborating with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary technical teams.
This position is ideal for a motivated environmental professional who enjoys managing complex remediation projects, mentoring staff, building strong client relationships, and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced consulting environment.
What You'll Do
- Manage environmental assessment and remediation projects under Florida's Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP)
- Oversee site investigations, groundwater monitoring, source removal, remedial action implementation, remediation system operation and maintenance, and site closure activities
- Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, proposals, cost estimates, and regulatory submittals
- Manage project schedules, budgets, invoicing, subcontractors, and project deliverables
- Ensure compliance with FDEP regulations and Florida PRP requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulators, and project stakeholders
- Mentor junior technical staff and support business development initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of environmental consulting and project management experience
- Experience managing petroleum remediation projects in Florida
- Working knowledge of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regulations and Florida's Petroleum Restoration Program (PRP)
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships
- Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout Florida
Preferred
- Florida Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
- Experience with petroleum remediation technologies
- Knowledge of Florida petroleum restoration programs such as CTS, ATC, and SRCO
- Experience mentoring junior staff and supporting business development efforts
