Job Title: Project Manager
Job Description
This role leads multiple complex projects from initial kickoff through final customer acceptance within a manufacturing environment focused on switchgear, E-House, and building-related products. The Project Manager oversees the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, integration, testing, and delivery, while owning scope, schedule, cost, and overall performance. This position serves as the primary customer contact, coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure that technical, contractual, and financial requirements are met and that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
+ Manage multiple projects simultaneously from kickoff through final customer acceptance, ensuring successful delivery of all commitments.
+ Lead end-to-end project execution, including planning, design, procurement, manufacturing, integration, testing, and delivery activities.
+ Own and control project scope, schedule, cost, and overall performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues and risks.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining strong communication, managing expectations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
+ Coordinate cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, engineering, quality, and client-facing stakeholders, to align internal execution with customer requirements.
+ Lead internal and customer kickoff meetings, establish clear project plans, and drive ongoing project updates and reviews.
+ Communicate technical and contractual requirements clearly to internal teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and compliance.
+ Allocate resources effectively and prioritize project activities to meet deadlines and key milestones.
+ Manage vendors and subcontractors, ensuring they understand scope, deliverables, and timelines, and that their work meets project requirements.
+ Monitor and report project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders, providing accurate and timely updates on performance and issues.
+ Ensure compliance with documentation standards, contractual terms, and internal company processes throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Support invoicing activities, track payments, and manage project financials, including budgets, costs, and margins.
+ Review and approve shipments, ensuring all deliverables meet customer expectations and contractual specifications.
+ Drive project closeout activities, confirm all obligations are met, and secure formal customer acceptance.
+ Work closely on the shop floor as needed to oversee progress, resolve issues, and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
+ Contribute to the success of the switchgear and buildings product line by supporting continuous improvement in project execution.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of project management experience with full project lifecycle ownership, including financials, scheduling, client-facing responsibilities, and production coordination.
+ 2+ years of experience working with switchgear, E-House, or buildings; experience with controls or automatic transfer switches is considered transferable and acceptable.
+ 2+ years of experience in a product development or manufacturing/fabrication environment, ideally involving medium voltage, low voltage, E-House, buildings, relay panels, or similar products.
+ Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
+ Understanding of product development life cycles within a manufacturing setting.
+ Experience working with switchgear, controls, relay panels, and related electrical equipment.
+ Proficiency with ERP systems, with experience in Syteline considered ideal.
+ Ability to manage and interpret technical and contractual requirements and communicate them effectively to cross-functional teams.
+ Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage vendors and subcontractors.
+ Capability to work effectively on the shop floor and collaborate closely with production, procurement, engineering, quality, and client-facing teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, with a strong preference for Electrical Engineering.
+ Experience in a rapidly growing organization or product line is beneficial.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing documentation, contracts, and project records.
+ Comfort working in a customer-facing role, including leading meetings and presenting project updates.
+ Ability to adapt to evolving product lines and new offerings within the data center supplier space.
+ Experience that emphasizes project management responsibilities over project engineering responsibilities.
