This Project Manager role offers the opportunity to lead a diverse range of commercial and development projects from concept through completion. The position combines core construction project management with real estate development exposure, including design coordination, permitting, feasibility planning, and development budgeting. Responsibilities
+ Manage construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring all phases run smoothly and efficiently.
+ Review drawings and specifications for constructability, coordination, and value engineering, and provide clear feedback to project stakeholders.
+ Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring timely responses and accurate tracking of all project communications and modifications.
+ Coordinate subcontractors and field personnel to maintain alignment with project goals, timelines, and quality standards.
+ Serve as the primary liaison between owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and field staff, fostering strong communication and collaboration.
+ Lead OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) and other project meetings, prepare and distribute meeting minutes, and track action items to completion.
+ Monitor project financials, including requisitions and cost controls, to keep projects on budget and identify opportunities for savings.
+ Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality expectations and contract requirements.
+ Anticipate project challenges, identify risks, and proactively develop practical solutions to keep projects on track.
+ Support internal real estate development initiatives from early planning through construction, contributing to strategic project decisions.
+ Coordinate with in-house and external design professionals on conceptual layouts, feasibility studies, zoning, and permitting efforts.
+ Assist with development budgeting, planning, and value engineering throughout the project, balancing design intent with financial goals.
+ Maintain strong client relationships by providing clear communication, responsive service, and consistent project follow-through.
+ Contribute to a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture and demonstrate leadership qualities that support long-term organizational growth.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, project management, architecture, or a closely related field.
+ Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
+ Strong knowledge of construction documents, building systems, and project delivery methods.
+ Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
+ Hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, and change orders, including documentation, tracking, and resolution.
+ Proficiency with Procore construction management software.
+ Proficiency with MS Project for project scheduling and timeline management.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain detailed project schedules and manage project sequencing.
+ Experience coordinating with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and field staff on complex projects.
+ Experience participating in and leading OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings.
+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
+ Proven leadership skills and the ability to guide project teams toward shared goals.

Work Environment
This role is based on-site in New Haven with regular travel to project sites approximately one to two times per week. You will work in a dynamic construction and development environment that involves close collaboration with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and field staff. Projects are primarily local to Connecticut, offering the opportunity to contribute to community-focused developments while maintaining a manageable travel schedule.
