A growing heavy civil contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a major water/wastewater infrastructure project in Arizona. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced PM who wants to take ownership of a large, complex project while positioning themselves for long-term leadership opportunities within a growing organization.
Position Overview
The immediate need is to lead a $40M+ wastewater treatment project located approximately three hours from Phoenix. This project is expected to last roughly two years , after which the successful candidate will transition to future projects within Arizona.
The ideal candidate is either an experienced Senior PM or a high-performing Project Manager ready to step into a larger role managing significant water/wastewater work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of a major wastewater treatment project from startup through closeout
- Manage project budgets, schedules, forecasting, contracts, and cost controls
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, field leadership, and subcontractors
- Oversee construction activities while maintaining plant operations during rehabilitation work
- Drive safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance
- Mentor project engineers and support field leadership teams
- Manage client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact
- Transition to future Arizona projects upon completion of the initial assignment
Required Experience
- 7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management
- Strong background in one or more of the following:
- Water treatment plants
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Pump stations
- Lift stations
- Large underground utility projects
- Experience managing projects in the $20M+ range is preferred
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods
- Ability to lead large teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Willingness to work on an out-of-town project assignment for approximately two years
