Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Wastewater Project Engineer/Manager for our Arizona offices located in Tempe, Tucson, and Goodyear . As part of our design and process teams, you will be involved with a wide range of wastewater infrastructure projects. This will encompass all phases of design, including conceptual/feasibility evaluations, project management, preparation of design reports, permitting, development of construction drawings and specifications, and support of construction services.

Key Responsibilities:
n
- n
- Developing technical treatment strategies, selecting treatment processes, developing process design criteria, and delivering projects. n
- Direct coordination and collaboration with clients. n
- Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery. n
- Evaluate progress of the project staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall project objective n
- Planning, design, permitting, and construction of wastewater-related projects. n
- Experience managing interdisciplinary teams to effectively meet the client’s needs n
- Task responsibilities will include project management, preparation of assessment and design reports, performing design calculations, equipment sizing/selection, preparation of construction documents, and support needs for construction management/commissioning. n
- Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel. n
- Candidate shall also be able to lead business development activities including preparation of proposals and presentations. n
- The position will lead to an increasing level of client development and management commensurate with experience, supported by our local office and firm-wide technical resources n
- Business development activities including making site visits to pre-position for projects, participating in proposal preparation and project interviews, developing scope, schedule, and budget for approved pursuits, and leading pursuits for wastewater projects. n

Required Qualifications:
n
- n
- Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering n
- PE license n
- 12+ years of experience in the field of wastewater-related infrastructure, including project management (planning, design, and construction) n
- Experience in successfully delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams n
- Proficient in all MS Office based computer software n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies n
- Self-starter with attention to detail n
- Strong organizational skills n
- Must be capable of presenting complex issues to nontechnical people n

Qualifications:
n
- n
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in Civil/Environmental Engineering n
- Experience managing projects with fees of $2M or more n
- Experience negotiating multiple contracts with clients n
- Experience recruiting staff n
- Engagement in professional society leadership roles n
- Familiarity with CADD, GIS, Revit, and/or other software n
