Project Manager – HV/LV Electrical Projects

NEOS Engineering Recruitment are working with a well-established and growing electrical engineering business that is looking to appoint a Project Manager to join their Derby-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with electrical project management experience to join a company delivering critical infrastructure projects across the UK, working with some of the country's most recognised organisations.
The successful candidate will initially focus on planning, managing and delivering projects, before progressing into commercial responsibilities such as quotations and estimating as they develop within the business. Whilst HV experience is advantageous, it is not essential, as full support and mentoring will be provided by an experienced team.
The Role
As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of multiple electrical projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time and within budget. You'll coordinate engineers, subcontractors and suppliers whilst maintaining excellent communication with clients throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Projects typically include:
- HV/LV substation installations
- High Voltage maintenance works
- Low Voltage electrical installations
- Electrical infrastructure upgrades
- Industrial and commercial electrical projects
- Renewable energy installations
Alongside project delivery, you'll compile O&M manuals, manage documentation, carry out site surveys where required and build strong, long-term relationships with key customers. As your knowledge of the business develops, you'll also become involved in preparing quotations and supporting commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously
- Plan labour, materials and project programmes
- Coordinate engineers, subcontractors and suppliers
- Compile O&M manuals and project documentation
- Carry out site surveys when required
- Attend client meetings and maintain strong relationships
- Monitor project costs, quality and programme
- Ensure projects comply with health & safety legislation
- Support commercial activities including quotations and estimating
- Deliver projects on time and within budget
About You
We're keen to speak with Project Managers who have experience within electrical installations, building services, utilities or industrial environments.
You will ideally have:
- Electrical industry background
- Good understanding of LV electrical installations
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Experience managing multiple projects
- Ability to read technical drawings and documentation
- Full UK Driving Licence
Previous High Voltage experience would be beneficial but is not essential. If you have the right attitude and electrical project background, full support will be provided to develop your HV knowledge.

This is primarily an office-based position from the company's Derby office. Whilst there is flexibility around working hours where appropriate, the business values collaboration and believes the best project outcomes come from teams working closely together. Travel to customer sites across the UK will be required for surveys and project management. Overnight stays are infrequent but may occasionally be necessary depending on project location.
