About the Studio
This is a growing consultancy with clients at the heart of everything it does, specialising in retail, leisure, and hospitality fit-out. Its projects run right across the country, and they are the sort of jobs where the quality of the finish matters just as much as hitting the date. The business has built its reputation on getting both right, every time.
The team is small and tight-knit, which means you will be working alongside the founders rather than reporting up through layers of management. You get a real say in how projects are delivered, proper ownership of your work, and a front-row view of a business on the up. If you would rather help shape a company than disappear into a big machine, you will feel at home here.
Client relationships matter enormously here, and delivery matters even more. The people who do best are the ones who enjoy being handed the whole picture and who set their own bar high without anyone needing to ask.
About the Role
You will run projects from end to end: feasibility and early estimates at one end, a finished and handed-over site at the other. There will be several complex projects on the go at any one time, each with its own budget, its own programme, and its own mix of clients, contractors, and consultants to keep pulling in the same direction.
This is a senior, client-side position with genuine autonomy. You will lead roll-out programmes across new stores and refurbishments, take charge of budgets and cost sign-off, and set the direction for the team around you. Clients will come to rely on you as the calm, dependable voice keeping them informed through accurate, timely reporting.
The timing is good too. The business is expanding, the work is varied, and there is real scope for the role to grow with it. One thing to be clear about upfront: travel is a big part of the job, because the sites are spread across the UK and you will want to be on them.
What your week will involve
- Leading the full project life cycle, from feasibility and risk analysis through to final delivery and handover
- Running feasibility studies on new sites, including detailed risk analysis and top-line estimates for clients
- Managing budgets, administration, and cost sign-off across all of your projects
- Value engineering every part of the build while never letting quality slip
- Keeping external consultants, including design and architecture, on time and on budget
- Owning all programmes, schedules, and delivery dates, and overseeing health and safety compliance throughout
- Managing third-party suppliers and subcontractors so clients always get the best value
- Producing weekly client updates and briefs, and sharing clear, relevant information with teams inside and outside the business
- Providing leadership and direction for the project team, and building strong relationships with every professional services team the business works with
You could be the one if...
- You have a proven track record of delivering high-end retail interior fit-outs across the UK (this one is non-negotiable)
- You have solid experience of contractor and client-side contracts and project management within retail, leisure, or hospitality
- You hold a clean UK driving licence and are properly happy spending time on the road, because the role demands it
- You have a strong grasp of construction safety requirements and H&S legislation
- You are highly organised, diligent, and a natural problem-solver with a proper work ethic
- You are strong in Excel, comfortable building spreadsheets and working with formulas
- You are H&S trained, with site-based certificates such as CSCS or SMSTS (nice to have rather than a deal-breaker)
