About the Role
Our client, a leading consultancy firm in the aviation sector, is seeking a highly accomplished
Senior Aviation Project Manager to join their team in
Sheffield . This hybrid role involves leading and managing complex aviation projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across a variety of projects, which may include airport infrastructure development, airline operations improvement, or technology implementation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the aviation industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of complex aviation projects.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of project teams, including engineers, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensure effective communication and stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress and performance, reporting key metrics to senior management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Manage project financials, including budget tracking and forecasting.
- Foster strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on the aviation industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale aviation projects.
- Strong understanding of airport operations, airline business, or aerospace manufacturing.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Ability to manage complex budgets and financial forecasting.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing office and remote work.
