About the Role
Our client, a leading innovator in the sustainable energy sector, is seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager to join their dynamic team in London, England, UK . This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of complex renewable energy projects, from initial feasibility studies and development through to construction, commissioning, and operational handover. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the energy market, particularly in solar, wind, and battery storage technologies, and have a proven track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget. You will be instrumental in driving our client's mission to accelerate the transition to a cleaner energy future and solidify their position as a frontrunner in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets for renewable energy projects.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, including engineers, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough site assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analyses to ensure project viability.
- Oversee the procurement process, including tendering, contract negotiation, and management of third-party suppliers and contractors.
- Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate risks and keep projects on track.
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships, providing regular progress updates and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among all project participants.
- Contribute to the strategic development of new renewable energy initiatives and technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar PV, wind farms, or energy storage systems.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects with budgets exceeding £50 million.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) and tools.
- Strong understanding of grid connection processes, environmental regulations, and planning permissions relevant to the UK energy market .
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel within the UK as required for site visits and project meetings.
