About the Role
Our client, a leading international energy consultancy, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Subsurface Project Manager to lead critical projects from their strategically located office in Reading, Berkshire, UK . This role demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing complex subsurface exploration and development projects within the Oil & Gas industry. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from conception and planning through to execution and delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and manage subsurface projects, including exploration campaigns, field development studies, and asset evaluations.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with clients and internal teams.
- Develop and manage project budgets, resources, and risk management plans.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary subsurface teams (geologists, geophysicists, reservoir engineers, etc.).
- Oversee the technical quality of project deliverables, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards.
- Manage client relationships, communicate project progress, and present key findings and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Identify opportunities for business development and contribute to proposal writing.
- Mentor junior project managers and team members.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 5 years in project management roles focused on subsurface projects.
- Proven experience managing diverse project teams and delivering complex projects successfully.
- Strong understanding of exploration and production workflows, technologies, and challenges.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and methodologies.
- Experience working in a hybrid environment, with the ability to engage effectively in person at our Reading office and remotely.
- Commercial acumen and experience in client-facing roles.
