About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Project Manager to oversee critical projects in
Edinburgh, Scotland, UK . This role involves managing the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for coordinating with engineering teams, contractors, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to achieve project objectives. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, project management methodologies, and excellent leadership skills. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end project management of electrical systems installations and upgrades.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate and manage all project activities, including design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
- Liaise with internal engineering teams, external contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and change orders.
- Foster strong relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on electrical or power systems projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, power systems, and construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with risk management and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is highly desirable.
