About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chemical Engineering Project Manager to lead a variety of capital projects from conception through to completion in their Edinburgh operations. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise in chemical engineering and exceptional project management skills. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle for capital investment projects within the chemical manufacturing environment.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Manage project risks, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, operations, procurement) and external vendors and contractors.
- Ensure all projects comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Report project progress, performance, and challenges to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the chemical or process industries.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex capital projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
