About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to oversee significant infrastructure projects in and around Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves managing all phases of project lifecycles, from initial concept and design through to construction and completion. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of civil engineering principles, coupled with exceptional organizational and communication abilities, operating within a hybrid work model that balances office presence with remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the planning, design, and execution of diverse civil engineering projects.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Conduct site visits and project reviews to monitor progress and address any issues.
- Implement and enforce rigorous health and safety protocols on all project sites.
- Prepare regular progress reports and project documentation for stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the civil engineering sector, with a strong portfolio of delivered projects.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with UK planning regulations, building codes, and contract administration.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing office-based and remote responsibilities.
