Job Summary
Contract Manager in the Energy unit focusing on UK infrastructure consultancy contract management. Opportunity to manage a wide range of commercial activities including contract reviews, advice, cross‑border delivery, disputes, claims, tax and insurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including consultancy, framework, memoranda of understanding and non‑disclosure agreements.
- Conduct commercial reviews to identify departures from governance and assist project teams in obtaining necessary internal approvals.
- Draft and update commercial guidance to raise awareness of recurrent topics and new regulations in key markets and jurisdictions.
- Assist Divisional Commercial Managers and other unit members, including leading on commercial risk management for projects.
- Manage and resolve claims supported by internal Commercial and Legal functions.
- Support governance activities, liaising with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Data Protection and Insurance teams.
Candidate Specification
Essential:
- Understanding of UK infrastructure contract law and standardised contracts such as NEC.
- Good practical experience applying legal principles and commercial law.
- Great analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, balance competing priorities and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- Engineering or similar degree considered, combined with relevant experience.
Desirable:
- Experience in large engineering or construction company.
- Experience in utilities, consultancy or infrastructure sectors.
- Track record of advising on contract matters across jurisdictions.
- Experience delivering contract reviews, drafting and negotiations.
