People Project Manager
Location: Cambridge, UK – Hybrid (50% working time at the office)
Employment Type: Full time – Fixed term contract
Leading projects that have an impact both internally to the People team and externally to the business. This role manages projects of low to medium complexity and/or supports larger programmes led by a Senior Project Manager. The role holder also supports People team colleagues to initiate their own projects, providing tools and guidance, and leads or participates in People team initiatives related to continuous improvement. The role is goal‑oriented and requires collaboration and creativity to navigate a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, to scope, within budget and to the required standard
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation through to closure
- Manage workstreams within wider programmes
- Create and maintain high quality project documents
- Collaborate to solve problems and manage risks, ensure stakeholders are engaged and communication and change management are well planned and delivered
- Complete project reporting and comply with governance
Essential Requirements
- Strong relationship building and influencing skills
- Experience of managing projects within a People Team (HR) environment
- HR professional, with experience of working within an HR team
- Strong problem solving skills
- Experience of using project management tools and methodologies
- Very strong presentation and organisation skills
Desired Skills
- Experience of working regionally or globally
- Experience of project managing payroll or other HR systems implementation projects
- Experience of project managing talent or reward projects
- Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, PMP)
- HR qualification (e.g. CIPD Level 5 or above)
- Change management experience
