A specialist engineering contractor deliveringhigh-spec ventilation and HVAC systems for healthcare and critical environmentsis looking to recruit an experiencedProject Managerdue to continued business expansion.
ThisProject Managerrole will focus on delivering projects withinlive hospital environments, including operating theatres, laboratories and cleanroom facilities across the UK.
The successfulProject Managerwill manage the full lifecycle of mechanical and HVAC installations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
The role offers hybrid working with travel to projects nationwide and occasional visits to the company’s Head Office inTrafford Park, Manchester.
The Role
AsProject Manager, you will take ownership of specialist mechanical and ventilation projects from design coordination through to installation and final handover.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Managing the delivery of HVAC and mechanical installation projects
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and project resources
- Managing project programmes, procurement and cost control
- Ensuring works meet health & safety and quality standards
- Preparing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Managing variations and contractual requirements
- Producing regular progress reports for senior management and clients
- Acting as the main client contact throughout project delivery
- Ensuring project documentation including O&M manuals and as-built drawings are completed
Projects are delivered incritical environments where ventilation performance and contamination control are essential.
Project Environments
Projects are typically delivered withinlive healthcare environments, including:
- Operating theatres and surgical suites
- Orthopaedic theatre upgrades
- Hospital recovery and critical care spaces
- Cleanrooms and aseptic environments
- Laboratory and research facilities
These environments requirespecialist ventilation and HVAC systems designed to maintain sterile conditions and strict environmental control.
Project durations typically range from2–3 months up to 12–18 months, with sites across the UK includingNewcastle, Glasgow and London.
Requirements
To be considered for thisProject Managerposition you should have experience delivering mechanical or building services projects within a contracting environment.
Key requirements include
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Project Manager within engineering or construction
- Experience delivering HVAC, mechanical or building services projects
- Experience working within live environments such as healthcare, laboratories or critical sites preferred
- Understanding of JCT Design & Build contracts
- Engineering qualification such as HND, HNC or Degree
- Strong subcontractor and stakeholder management skills
- AutoCAD or Revit knowledge beneficial but not essential
Salary & Benefits
