A leading built environment consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team on an interim basis. You will be seconded into a public sector organisation to support the successful delivery of a key transport and infrastructure programme within the region.
Your new role
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for delivering highways and bus infrastructure projects, ensuring they are progressed efficiently through governance, procurement and delivery stages.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and external partners to drive projects forward and achieve programme objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the delivery of highways and transport infrastructure projects.
- Coordinating project governance, reporting and approval processes.
- Leading stakeholder engagement across a range of internal and external parties.
- Supporting and managing contractor procurement activities.
- Overseeing contractor performance and project delivery.
- Managing project risks, budgets, programmes and key milestones.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in line with public sector processes and procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong understanding of local authority governance, procurement and project management processes.
- Experience procuring and managing contractors within a public sector environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous local authority experience is essential.
