Your new role
This is a 12-month fixed term contract (FTC) to move 450 blue collar workers from weekly to monthly pay by April 2027. Reporting into the HR Director and working closely with the Head of Pay Benefits, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects, and services, ensuring strong operational performance, effective stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the day-to-day planning, coordination, and delivery of projects and business priorities to agreed timescales and objectives.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, providing regular updates, resolving issues, and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Monitor performance, risks, and project progress, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Oversee resource allocation, workload management, and budget tracking to ensure efficient delivery.
- Facilitate governance activities, including reporting, compliance, risk management, and decision-making processes.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, service delivery, and operational effectiveness.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience leading payroll, HR transformation, Time & Attendance, or wider people change programmes within a complex organisation.
- Strong project management background, with experience delivering multi-workstream projects involving governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and programme reporting.
- Experience working within a unionised environment, including consultation and engagement with Trade Union representatives and employee groups.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, Operations, and senior leadership teams to deliver organisational change.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop clear engagement, consultation, and change management plans.
- Commercially aware and analytically minded, with experience using HR/payroll systems and data to support informed decision-making and successful project delivery.
What you'll get in return
You can expect a salary in the region of £55,000 to £60,000 (DoE), matched pension up to 10%, hybrid working (up to 4 days a week onsite) and a range of flexible benefits.
This role also requires a significant onsite presence, with up to 4 days a week in the office, and you will need to live within a commutable distance to Liverpool.
