Role Description
The Construction Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Halifax, NS. This position oversees commercial flooring projects from initiation to completion, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating work with contractors, site supervisors, and internal teams. The role involves managing budgets, tracking project progress, reviewing drawings and specifications, and ensuring materials, labour, and equipment are available on time. The Construction Project Manager monitors site safety and quality standards, addresses project issues, and communicates status updates and changes to stakeholders. This role also supports bid preparation, assists with estimating and proposals, and contributes to continuous improvement in project delivery processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong project management capabilities, including Project Management and Construction Project Management skills.
- Candidates should possess project coordination skills, including Project Coordination and Construction Management for day-to-day site and contractor oversight.
- Candidates should possess financial management skills, including Budgeting and cost control for construction projects.
- Candidates should possess relevant experience in commercial construction or flooring projects, preferably in multi-unit, institutional, or commercial environments.
- Candidates should possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, clients, and internal teams.
- Candidates should possess solid organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on meeting schedules and quality standards.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, project management, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, and safety regulations, along with proficiency in project management and office software, is an asset.
